Key Competency Design
|
Situation: A local radio station conglomerate needed to maintain the success found in a particular program by duplicating the appeal found with its public.
|
Solution: Strategy Link suggested that a competency assessment be performed in which all radio hosts were benchmarked with the top performers, retaining those abilities that had allowed them to remain the leaders with a particular subset of fans. In order to do so, the 360º Assessment module was implemented from which certain qualities were made evident in a group of show hosts. These hosts were then programmed at peak listening hours in order to capture as much of the fans as possible, and increase listener loyalty. In order to ensure that the working atmosphere inside the company was one of good sense of humor, and lent itself to a fun and witty broadcast, employee satisfaction surveys were conducted using that module of the application. The result was a controlled environment and a series of shows which further captured the market and maintained the radio station’s leadership and financial success well above its competition.

| Status: The station is in the process of expanding its competency structure to include certain technical competencies, and begin evaluations and assessments on those skills. Future ES surveys have been performed with positive results, verifying the direction the station has taken towards creating the correct culture for the programming selected. |
